overall very good remix! The beat is the best part. The base also sounds great!
What I didn't like was that solo saxophone track, that sounds waaaay to sub-standard, compared to all other instrument tracks u got going there.
U could try using some sort of electronic piano(E-Piano, Cool Suitcase Piano, Midi Piano, ect) with multi-chords.
Other then that I love the whole arrangement.

BowserThedestructive responds:

Why thank you most of older remakes were based on others MIDI core melody data though I did tweak stuff here and there. Its how I learned enough to start producing my own music starting in 2010. However, small stuff like this were some of my better remakes, not too shabby ;)

Should of called it "Joyful Labyrinth Full of Cats"! LOL
"MEOW MEOW MEOW MEOW MEOOOOUW MEU"

Xsalvaz responds:

Haha! So that's why it's so popular....

Soviet Cinema? haha!

Hmm, what you reffering to is Gaidai's film from 70s- called Slujebniy Romans, (At Service Romance, or Office Romance) It's a classic film that is remembered nowadays. The music track you made have a little resemblance of the main theme song in the movie. My only wish if you would of used music instruments like in the film. The beat was modern though, but I guess that's you personal choice.

This is good to see some people from the west being more open and actually get to know something about legendary USSR films. ;)

OcularNebula responds:

Well, I'm actually from Russia, so the fact that I'm familiar with USSR films isn't too surprising. The theme in this song is my own theme, but melodically it just reminded me of the sort of music that was used in a lot of lighter soviet movies in the 70s, even though this rendition combines more modern electronic elements to make it sound better.

Interesting

interesting piece! Though it fits more for 16-17th century age of empires.
But no way sounding like music for WW2.
If you want to resemble WW 2 music- look up some orchestra from USSR, Britain or Germany.
You would most likely to hear instruments like trumpets, arny drums, snares, harmonica, army choirs, marching. BTW- great examples would be world war 2 marches - American, German and particularly Soviet (Russian). I know- simulating army Choirs would be a great challenge, but it would be awesome!

Ever played Return to Castle of Wolfenstein? They got pretty good music that resembles the one for ww 2. I love how they pulled it off. They used Orchestra Trumpets (Brasses) pretty often, lots of millitary drums, strings, snares, little bit of piano, chanting choir (for catacombs level), Unique music tracks- for nazi laboratory- they included some sort of distant metal clanking sound.

Anyways, these are my two cents of knowledge to share! ;) I would love to see they make WW2 Age of Empires! Tanks, subs, planes, rocket launchers, armored trains, battleships, trenches, troop transporting trucks.... Would be awesome!

EagleGuard responds:

Haha, thanks for the review ;)

Keep in mind, this piece is pretty old, so that's why it may not sound top notch. At first I tried to make it sound more military than specifically WWII-like, so that may also be the reason that it isn't exactly perfect.

No, I haven't played that game, will look into it, sounds interesting enough. =p

Perhaps I'll redo this one day, to make it sound more WWII-like/realistic.

Hmmm!

I havn't played Dune on PC, but I had it on Sega - Dune II battle for Arrackis.
This one soudns like a tune used in Tutorial part of the game.

Wonder if PC musc and Sega Megadrive DUNE music was similar or not. You should check it out - sounds pretty awesome too. I am trying to find any remix of it , wonder if anyone done any.

Sounds pretty good. but for a remix- you could of made more- for exaple the musica plays as you have it, then suddenly kicks in witgh faster pace, and ambition. ;)
Nice mix

Kosmiker responds:

Thank you

heeee

First lyrics came to my mind when I heard this, was-
"I like big buts and I cannot lie...."
jajajaj! Jee what's on my mind, I realy have a problem, right? lol

Nice nice! Sounds like it was a good night, since you made such a cool track in the morning. ;)

ForestLomn responds:

Ha ha not that great of a night. Just lots and lots of caffeine:) But thanks. LOL that is pretty funny you thought of those lyrics.

huh!?

that's strange... from 1:15 till 1:23 I heard a familiar tune!

It sounds just like a melody from Swan's Lake balle, when Dark Hawk comes.
It's interesting. Wonder if that was your intention or not. Not trying to say anything bad. Just interesting how it sounds exactly like it in there.

Overall, nice tune.

ProudAardvark responds:

Well, I don't know swan lake very well, bit that passage is a pretty common romantic technique - Harmonic sequence in thirds, with shortening phrase length, so I wouldn't be surprised if there were a ton of examples out there that are similar in feel, in and out of swan lake.

preeeeety!

Hey, This is sooo wintery kind of tune!

I love the strings- chellos playing in the background! very beautiful touch!

I visualyze a grand castle, with a warm fireplace, and pendulum clocks that are going backwards. Window silk tapestries hanging, while outside the window there is a snowfall, frozen river and forest line.

Perfect for Christmas and New Year!

And now I wonder if what I have visualyzed matches to what you were trying to portray with your musical piece.

My only suggestion would be - make it longer, with more chellos in BG.

ChampionAnwar responds:

Hey thanks! Your colourful rebiew is awesome. . It's nice to know you like it on that scale. I have an extended version on my EP "Perspective", which I'll be looking to release soon, and that is has a more in-depth version of this tune, but I may release it here :P Thank you very much, your words give me the courage to make more music :D :D.

buahahaha!

Why you!.... XD))))
Drunk band or something)))

But I know what I should do. I should make an animation- Elephant Band! Oh jeez, it would be hillarious- seeing various elephants with various trunk lengths, playing their part XD! Hahahhaha! imagine that picture in mind when this playing!

HyruleanHyroe responds:

LOL! Do it! DO IT!

hmm...

DUUUDE! This reminds me so much of RAILROAD TYCOON 2! AS if it's from there!
style match perfectly!

Hyper-Shadow-Death responds:

Thank you im glad you liked it!! But actually the influence of this song was from the Anime series Trigun. I finished watching it, loved it, felt inspired one day and this song came to life. Ill be making more in the future, ill keep ya posted ;)

Having a great interest in Game making in Flash!
